Leased Line Savings Calculator

The Leased Line Replacement Savings Calculator is a tool to help organizations estimate the potential cost savings when switching to an Ethernet/IP-based solution with TC Communications products. Users can input their current leased line costs, IP connectivity costs, and TC equipment investment to instantly calculate monthly and annual savings.

In this example, a dispatch center is connected to five sites. Site 1 is the transmit/receive site, while Sites 2-5 are voted receivers. All five sites are connected via leased lines.

Our JumboSwitch solution would replace the 10 required leased lines (two for each site) with Ethernet/IP connectivity at each of the six sites (dispatch center plus five remote sites).

By applying an average monthly cost of $1,500 per leased line, this organization's monthly leased line costs would total $15,000.

On the other hand, estimating monthly IP connectivity costs of $350 per site, the cost per month for an IP solution would be only $2,100. The net savings would be $12,900 per month.

Of course, upfront equipment costs must be factored in. With a cost of $35,400 for the JumboSwitch equipment, investing in a JumboSwitch IP solution would pay for itself in three months, resulting in net savings of just under $120,000 in the first year.
