IWCE 2025 in Las Vegas: Show Recap

03/24/2025

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth in-person and virtually at IWCE 2025 in Las Vegas. In case you could not attend, here are our experience and observations:

One of the most noteworthy critical communications events in North America, IWCE (International Wireless Communications Expo) took place from March 17-20 this year in the Las Vegas Convention Center. We did not attend the conference portion this year, so our experience only reflects the exhibition from March 19-20.

This year, one of our primary focuses was our solutions for substantially reducing radio linking costs, which was fortuitous as there were many, many radio dealers and radio customers in attendance. We also showcased our JumboSwitch® Rugged Versatile Ethernet Platform, including our 10G Multi-Service Carrier Ethernet Switch.

Attendance seemed about on par with last year’s. In recent years, we have noticed a trend in declining attendance compared to ten or more years ago. Whether organizations are dialing back on budgets for travel or otherwise becoming more selective with which tradeshows they attend, we cannot say for certain, but the main draw for attendees continues to be the networking opportunities.

While handing out scores of our updated Product Matrix and IEEE 1613 Solutions Guide, we were able to meet dozens of new people—from lead engineers to consultants and vendors—as well as briefly reunite with many of our past or current customers, which is always a treat for us. One customer in particular stopped by our booth and emphasized how much he loved our product and how it was helping his business. We greatly appreciate both positive and constructive feedback, and learning that our solutions are continuing to impact customers year after year makes the admittedly stressful nature of tradeshows worth it.

Similarly to last year, we sensed an undercurrent of uncertainty about the telecommunications industry at large, what with the approach of 6G and the overall rising energy costs many organizations are facing. The telecom industry is not necessarily slow to adapt to change, but with rapid developments in technology, including the aforementioned 6G, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing, many within the industry are definitely feeling the pressure to keep pace, especially with constantly changing regulatory requirements that go hand in hand with technological advancements. It is a difficult time for the industry, so being able to speak with professionals facing the same challenges is, if not exactly comforting, perhaps validating.
