Sleek-Packaged Fiber T1/E1 Multiplexer Adds Management Software, Extra Data Channels

A Windows-based management software module, 8 extra RS-232 data channels and sleek "1U" packaging head up a long list of features for the new TC8300 One-to-Four Channel Fiber Optic T1/E1 Multiplexer TC8300 One-to-Four Channel Fiber Optic T1/E1 Multiplexer.

TC Communications new Management Software module for the TC8300 is a 32-bit Microsoft Window application program for monitoring network status and control. It runs on any IBM PC or PC-compatible computer that meets the minimum requirements. A security key is provided to prevent unauthorized usage.

The extra data channels can be used for various communications purposes including Dry Contact Alarms or CSU/DSU links. Up to eight RS-232 out-of-band channels are available in addition to the four T1/E1 channels. If the Status & Control Management Software Module is used, four RS-232 channels are available for out-of-band communications.

Other key features include built-in power redundancy, 6 LEDs per channel, single/multimode, loopback and simultaneous T1/E1 multiplexing. Options include optical redundancy, a long distance version and a wide temperature range version.
