Feature Highlight: Analog-Over-MPLS (Public Networks)
08/12/2015After 6 months of intensive testing, a major Canadian Public Health organization concluded that the JumboSwitch from TC Communications will be one of the first products to be approved for Radio-over-IP/MPLS.
The Canadian Public Health organization was forced by the telephone company to replace their leased lines with MPLS. With the current leased line network, ambulance dispatchers were suffering from poor to unusable links resulting in reduced radio capabilities. After conducting an extensive series of tests on their worst link, the JumboSwitch from TC Communications was able to provide stable, high quality voice, audio, and system reliability between their Emergency Dispatch Centers and remote radio base stations.
Transporting 4-Wire Analog Over MPLS Public Networks
The JumboSwitch®’s Analog-over-IP card overcomes packet delay variations (PDVs) making it a highly suitable solution for the Public Health Organization’s need to transport 4-wire analog over its Ethernet/IP networks while preserving existing legacy equipment. The TC3846-6 extends 600Ω 2/4-wire analog and dry contacts across MPLS and Layer 2/3 Ethernet networks making it a solid solution for a variety of Analog-over-IP needs.
For the second phase, the company will be testing voting-over-IP with the TC3846-6 Analog-over-IP card over the MPLS network.
