T3/E3-over-IP Gateway Extends DS3 Circuits

IRVINE, CA ----- Ideal for extending high bandwidth DS3 circuits over LANs or Enterprise networks, the new TC3845-3 T3/E3-over-IP-Gateway from TC Communications adds flexibility to IP network connectivity.

The TC3845-3 transmits one DS3, T3 or E3 channel over Layer 2/3 networks in point-to-point or multi-point applications. It is available as a standalone product or as one of 14 different voice and data interface cards compatible with the JumboSwitch*, TC Communications’ flagship modular Gigabit Ethernet Switch.

Because the TC3845-3 transports high volumes of DS3 voice, video, and data traffic across Ethernet/IP networks, it adds enormous flexibility for connecting VoIP, IP PBX systems, Surveillance Cameras, CCTV Systems, and VLAN Trunks.

Specific applications include extending TELCO DS3 demarcation points and linking PBXs, channel banks and Cell Towers to Central Offices.

The TC3845-3 is simple to configure and achieves absolute minimum latency (end-to-end processing delay) by using high-performance buffering and forwarding technology. Each channel is independent and transparent to pertinent protocols and signaling and it supports all applicable T3/E3 line codes and T3/E3 and Ethernet Industry standards.

To ensure reliable communications, the TC3845-3 supports VLAN and QoS for packet prioritization. Other key features include Traffic Monitoring and Statistics, Network Time Server (NTS), Remote Firmware Upgrade and Temperature and Power Consumption Monitoring. Power redundancy is standard. An extreme temperature version is optional (-40°C to +80°C).
