Mode Converter Ideal for Low Speed Applications

01/15/2007

The TC3020 Mode Converter Series supports data rates from 30 bps to 10 Mbps. Typically used to cross-connect different fiber types, regenerate optical signals and/or extend transmission distances, the TC3020 Series convert, regenerate or extend 850nm, 1300nm or 1550nm wavelength optical signals to distances up to 30 km.

Three models currently comprise the TC3020 Series. All support Burst Data applications.

The TC3021 supports data rates from 30 bps to 1 Mbps. The TC3022 supports data rates from 1 Mbps to 10 Mbps. The TC3023 supports data rates from 1.2 Kbps to 5 Mbps.

Eleven LEDs are provided for diagnostics, monitoring optic signals in both directions and indicating system status. A Test Signal Generator is available to help technicians conduct various installation tests including fiber link verifications. A Dry Contact Relay Alarm is also provided as a standard feature.

The TC3020 Series work with all popular types and sizes of fiber optic cable. Fiber optic connectors are ST or FC type. Power is 12VDC, optional 24VDC, -48VDC or 115/230VAC with an external power cube. Extreme temperature versions (-20o to 70oC) are also available.

TC Communications offers the most advanced and comprehensive line of mode converters in the industry. Various models are compatible with PABX, 10/100/1000M Ethernet, Token Ring FDDI, ATM and SONET (OC1 & OC3) . Mode converters are used to convert multimode fiber optic cable to single mode, or vice versa, to connect various devices in Telephony or LAN communication environments . Benefits of this conversion include: · Cross-connecting different fiber types · Re-generating optical signals · Extending transmission distances · Doubling fiber cable usage by “converting” standard dual fiber to 2-way transmission through 1 fiber.
