New Dry Contact over IP Interface Card Performs Security/Control Functions

A new dry contact closure interface card is the latest addition to the 14 different existing Ethernet, Voice & Data interface cards that make up TC Communication’s JumboSwitch® Multi-Service Ethernet Platform product family.

Used to extend dry contacts across layer 2/3 Ethernet networks, the TC3847-6 displays the status of remote closures via the TCView network management system.

The TC3847-6 is typically used by network administrators to perform various remote security and control functions such as turning on/off remote cameras, opening gates, alarms, sirens, video recorders, etc.

Each interface card provides 8 dry contact ports and fits into any one of four standard JumboSwitch housing options including the 2S Standalone chassis and 1U/2U/4U card cages.

Power supply options are 12VDC, 24VDC, -48VDC or 115/230VAC. Standard operating temperature is -20°C to +70°C and the extreme temperature version is -40°C to +80°C.

Currently, the JumboSwitch Multi-Service Ethernet Platform offers 15 different Hot-Swappable Interfaces including Analog, Serial, T1/E1, T3/E3, MoIP, RoIP, G.703, C37.94, Ethernet over PDH & Dry Contact.
