New Ethernet & Serial Data Multiplexer Integrates Fiber Optic Networks

 

Irvine, CA----- A new Ethernet and Serial Data multiplexer from TC Communications multiplexes one 10/100M Ethernet and four channels of RS-232, RS-422, TTL or Dry Contact interfaces over single mode or multimode fiber. A “one fiber,” two-way communication option doubles existing fiber usage.

The TC8530 is an efficient way to integrate networks with devices such as Remote Terminal Units and Controllers with both Ethernet and Serial interfaces over a single fiber. Service providers also use the TC8530 as a cost effective way to provide their customers with Ethernet and Serial connections. Ethernet rate control is optional.

It supports distances to more than 100 km and offers redundant power and optics, including automatic switchover features for maximum reliability. It is available “Industrial Hardened” (-40o to 80o) for extreme environments.

The Ethernet port auto-negotiates at 10/100M with full 10Mbps throughput and enables rate control in increments of 32Kbps. It is IEEE 802.3/802.3u/802.3x compliant. Setup, diagnostics and control is accessed via Serial Terminals, Telnet or SNMP management ports.
