Rate Limiting, TC Communications’s new 10/100M
2-port Ethernet Media Converter enables Service
Providers to control or limit bandwidth to its
customers in increments of 32 kbps.
Important options include a two-way “one-fiber”
version to maximize fiber plant usage and an
Industrial-Hardened version for extreme environments
(-40oC to 80oC). Power
redundancy is standard.
The TC3220 offers
incremental settings of 32Kbps, i.e. 32K, 64K,
96K... up to 100M. Rate Limiting can be applied
either on a per-port basis or on input/output
traffic.
A
wide variety of configuration, performance
monitoring and troubleshooting features are
standard. It can be managed through any Web
Browser, Telnet or Serial Console. Password
protection is provided.
The TC3220 also includes a
built-in Ethernet switch that enables distances up
to 100km without additional hardware (e.g. Switch or
Router). It provides 10/100Mbps Auto-Negotiation
and automatically adapts to full or half-duplex
mode. Transparent to the network, it operates
effectively even during high-demand traffic loads.
It
comes standard in a modular standalone/card version
that fits into a 10-Card Rack Assembly (TCRM192)
or 2-Card Rack Assembly (TCRM196).
Power is 12VDC or, optionally, 24VDC, -48VDC, 125VDC
or 115/230VAC with an external power cube.
