  1. Intercom, Audio, Data and Analog Multiplexer Enhanced

Irvine, CA-----A hot-swappable chassis and high temperature option is now available with the Model TC8000 Analog, Intercom & Data fiber multiplexer from TC Communications. Configured with redundant fiber optics and power, the TC8000 is often used to provide stable, high quality voice audio and system reliability between Dispatch Centers and remote radio transmitters and receivers. The new chassis holds up to seven TC8000 interface cards (28 channels) and is available with a high temperature option (-4°F to 158°F) for demanding environments.

Because the TC8000 analog Multiplexer uses fiber optic cable rather than phone circuits, audio signal quality is clean and consistent. Many radio dispatch systems use leased phone circuits which are particularly susceptible to line distortions and quality can vary from day to day.

In addition, since effective line losses are zero, level settings are simplified and, once made, remain precise because the multiplexer’s power and transmit/receive functions are internally redundant. Furthermore, when combined with the optional fiber redundancy and fiber path diversity, the system is immune to "going out of service" due to any single component failure.

"This hot-swappable chassis is beneficial because interface cards can be added or changed without powering down the system or any of its links," said Victor Liang, V.P. of Sales & marketing. "This can be very important when upgrading or maintaining critical emergency radio dispatch links for police and fire departments."

Featuring redundant power and optics, the TC8000 is a highly specialized 4-28 channel Analog & Data Fiber Optic Multiplexer that extends 600 Ohm audio and data channels to remote sites in a campus network.

Users can mix or match audio/intercom channels or RS-232, RS-422 TTL, and Dry Contact interfaces in increments of four up to a maximum of 28 channels. The intercom interface is for 4- wire voice communication (handsets) and the analog interface is 2/4 wire, 600 Ohm transformer coupled.

Since the TC8000 digitizes the analog and voice signals (PCM), voice quality does not degrade over extended distances. Distances up to 80km are typical over single mode fiber, 4 km over multimode fiber. It supports analog audio channels from 30Hz to 30KHz and asynchronous data up to 19.2Kbps.

  2. 24-Channel T1, E1 & Ethernet Multiplexer Reduces Network Costs

Irvine, CA----- A new high capacity Ethernet and T1/E1 multiplexer from TC Communications gives users the cost saving benefits of minimal hardware and fiber conserving efficiency along with a wide array of features. Key features include Web Management, Statistics Monitoring, Network Time Server (NTS), and an Extreme Temperature option.

The TC8518 Ethernet & T1/E1 Fiber Multiplexer multiplexes 8/16/20/24 T1 channels or 8/16/20 E1 channels and three 10/100 Ethernet Switch ports over multimode or single mode fiber optic cable. The three Ethernet ports support non-blocking full 100Mbps bandwidth. It supports distances to more than 100 km and offers standard redundant power and optics, including automatic switchover for maximum reliability.

The TC8518 is a simple yet advanced and reliable point-to-point solution for combining multiple T1/E1 lines and Ethernet over a single fiber. Typical applications include extending T1/E1 signals from Cell Towers to Central Offices and adding Ethernet service to existing T1 or E1 fiber optic links, or vice versa. Service Providers use the TC8518 as an efficient, cost effective method to provide their customers with Ethernet (100 Mbps with Rate Limiting capability) connections for data and T1/E1 for voice.

Setup, diagnostics and control is accessed via Web Interface, Serial Console, Telnet, or SNMP management. Diagnostics include LED indicators, dry contact alarms, and local and remote loopback. Additional features include VLAN, Rate Limiting, Remote Firmware Upgrades, industrialized versions, save/load configurations, and a two-way, one fiber option to double usage of existing fiber optic cable.

The Ethernet ports are IEEE 802.3/802.3u/802.3x compliant. Each T1 or E1 channel is independent, transparent to the framing format and supports all applicable standards and line codes.

The TC8518 is available in a 1U high “Rack Mount.” Fiber optic connectors are SC. Standard power supplies are redundant and hot-swappable 110/230VAC. Optional power is 24VDC or -48VDC. High temperature (-20oC to +70oC) and extreme temperature (-40oC to +80oC) versions are optional
